The MCSBC Métis Family Therapy Program has been implemented to provide urban Métis with the therapy support, tools and service to promote and foster a healthy Métis family system, in a wraparound style of service.
The MCSBC Métis Family Group Facilitator works closely with the Métis Attachment Focused Play Therapist and Youth and Adult Therapist; answering to the (Regional) Executive Director, and promotes a positive and healthy lifestyle.
The MCSBC Métis Family Group Facilitator shall be responsible for the following:
- Co-facilitate support groups for Aboriginal parents
- Provide professional support services, working with the Attachment Focused Play Therapist and Youth and Adult Therapist
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team with a wraparound style to perform assessments, coordinate client care, and provide services that are culturally appropriate for Métis families
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and consults with MCSBC Attachment focused Play Therapist and Youth and Adult Therapist
- Provides services that are sensitive to Métis culture
- Establishes and maintains relationships based on respect and understanding, initiates and participates in weekly Métis clinical meetings
Education: Human Service Work, with minimum 5 years experience or BSW
Wage commensurate with experience
