Family Support Program

Funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. 

It is a welcome addition to the Family Preservation program that MCSBC can offer to the families in the Okanagan area. 

This program will assist the MCSBC Prevention Program in:  

• Fostering a healthy and positive lifestyle
• Provide parents with strategies to help in maintaining a safe and healthy living environment for their children
•  Offer connection with Aboriginal cultural events
• Make professional referrals; as well as attend family planning meetings, case conferences, court, and mediations, alongside family members.

The Family Support Program provides families the assistance  to foster a healthy and positive lifestyle.  The Family Support Worker, (FSW), is able to provide parents with strategies to help in maintaining a safe and healthy living environment for their children.  There is also the ability to gain greater connection to the community, cultural events, and other professional referrals via the FSW.
