Youth and Elder Program

The Youth and Elder program provides opportunities for Elders and Youth to be together.  

Groups included embroidery, Metis crafts, art classes and flute making workshops with esteemed Métis artist Dennis Weber, a Michif language workshop with Elder Don Beauchensene and a Youth and Elder day retreat to Silver Lake Forestry Camp.  Participants expressed how much they enjoyed these activities and how they look forward to others.

More recently a group of children were taken sage picking and to a lavender farm.  The theme of these activities is “Back to Nature”. 

We have also enjoyed drumming circles with youth and adults – especially when held in the outdoors !
